VIRTUAL CONFIRMATION PREPARATION

Greetings!

[This message is for parents of children baptized Roman Catholic who have not yet completed a preparation program for Confirmation. These children must be going to one of our parish schools - OR - live in our parish boundaries - OR - attend our parish regularly. These children are typically in Grade 7, but we are also accepting children above Grade 7 who have not completed their preparation. You must complete the online registration form below and deliver the required documents and fee before January 16, 2022, to receive a login to the virtual program.]

We are pleased to call on our friends from HopeStone Catholic Formation to present this virtual, video preparation program for Confirmation. The videos are pre-recorded (not live), and will be released every week starting the First Week of February 2022. In this way, you will be able to watch them at any convenient time on a weekly basis.

REGISTRATION DETAILS

Please follow these steps to register:

1) Before starting the online form, make sure you have a physical copy of the child’s

“Birth Certificate” - OR - “Live Birth Papers”
AND “Baptismal Certificate.” If you cannot find the child’s Baptismal Certificate, you will have to contact the baptismal parish (even internationally) to provide this document.

2) Complete this online form:

3) Drop off the following items in the secure mail slot of the parish office located at the rear of the church:

the registration fee of $50.00
(Cash - OR - Cheque payable to “St. Joseph Parish” Only.
No other forms of payment are accepted at this time)
AND a copy of the “Birth Certificate” or “Live Birth Papers”
AND a copy of the “Baptismal Certificate”

in a sealed envelope marked as “Confirmation Registration” with the “Full Name of the Child.” Do not give us the original documents because they will not be returned. All items must be received before Sunday, January 16, 2022.

4) Wait for an email from HopeStone Catholic Formation which should arrive by February 1, 2022, in the email inbox that you provided as the primary contact email address.

Be sure to check your junk-box! After you've set your password, you can use the link provided in the email to login to the platform. Be sure to only use the email address that you provided the parish. If you have multiple children in our programs and only provided one email address, look on the dashboard of the account and you'll see both programs.

IMPORTANT DATES

Please mark your calendars with the following dates:

Deadline to Register: Sunday, January 16, 2022
Login Email Sent to Parents: February 1, 2022
Schedule to complete each video session:
- Week 1 Video: Tuesday February 1 to Monday February 7
- Week 2 Video: Tuesday February 8 to Monday February 14
- Week 3 Video: Tuesday February 15 to Monday February 21
- Week 4 Video: Tuesday February 22 to Monday February 28
- Week 5 Video: Tuesday March 1 to Monday March 7
- Week 6 Video: Tuesday March 8 to Monday March 14
Retreat/Review Session: Due to changing COVID restrictions, we are unable to provide a fixed date at this time. If we are able to hold an in-person retreat/review session, we will publish dates in early February. If we are unable to meet in-person, this retreat/review session will be made into a video.
Confirmation Dates: Due to changing COVID restrictions, we are unable at this time to publish fixed dates for when your child will receive the actual Sacrament of Confirmation.
