Respect for Life Ministry: St. Joseph’s Protectors
St. Joseph's Protectors was formed in an effort to put into practice the Catholic Church’s teaching that: “Human life must be respected and protected absolutely from the moment of conception… a human being must be recognized as having the rights of a person – among which is the inviolable right of every innocent being to life” [Catechism - CCC#2270-2275] … until natural death. Adopting Saint John Paul II, Our Lady of Guadalupe and, of course, St. Joseph to be our guiding Patrons, we promote cherishing God’s gift of every life.
Our Mission is to:
- Educate ourselves and our fellow parishioners about the respect for life issues through guest speakers, publications (scientific evidence + our faith), conferences and breakfast retreats.
- Pray for and build a Culture of Life in general via prayer cards, prayers of the Faithful, Holy Hours and Adoration, Novena to Our Lady of Guadalupe, Rosaries and special liturgies.
- Come together as a parish and Christian community and be witnesses at, and participate in, events such as Life Chain, 40 Days for Life, and the annual March for Life in Ottawa.
- Actively support respect for life organizations that need our help such as Mississauga Right to Life, Sisters of Life, Priests for Life, Campaign Life Coalition and The Euthanasia Prevention Coalition; and support, and provide resources for, those in crisis pregnancies or for healing.
We generally meet on the third Thursday of each month and welcome you to join us in this important Culture building work. To learn more, contact Ann at St Joseph Parish Office 905-826-2766 x 221 or by email: stjosephprotectors@gmail.com.
