     On the solemnity of the Immaculate Conception last Wednesday the Gospel of the Annunciation told how the ever-sinless Mary heard Gabriel’s message from God and willingly became God’s Mother. This Sunday would be the feast of Our Lady’s appearance at Guadalupe in Mexico, honoured as “Patroness of the Unborn”.

     These commemorations of Our Lady during December speak of her carrying the Son of God in her womb, a fitting time to thank God for the gift of life and to pray for all unborn children and their protection.
