The Catechism of the Church reminds us that “though faith is above reason, there can never be any real discrepancy between faith and reason since the same God who reveals mysteries and infuses faith has bestowed the light of reason on the human mind, God cannot deny himself, nor can truth ever contradict truth.”
We need to support our minds and hearts with truth, beauty & goodness so that we can see aright. A wise lady said the following words that many in Canada would do well to heed, in our navigation through life at this time: “There is only information you accept and information you do not accept. You were not born with a requirement to believe everything you are told; rather, you were born with a brain that allows you to process the information you receive and make independent decisions.”
May our pilgrimage through life be supported always by the loving truths of our faith and the use of right reason together with sound logic. ~ Fr. Paul Dobson.
