The Knights of Columbus was founded on March 29, 1882, by the (now) Venerable Father Michael J. McGivney, the 29-year-old assistant pastor of St. Mary's Church in New Haven, Connecticut. Father McGivney founded the Knights of Columbus to unite men of Catholic faith and to provide for the families of deceased members.
Credit Valley Council 8661 received our Charter on April 9th 1984.
