SEVENTH SUNDAY OF THE YEAR February 23, 2025

  In the gospel reading this Sunday, Saint Luke is giving his readers a course in practical Christianity through Our Lord’s saying on this theme.

     Luke is unique among the evangelists in writing for an educated audience of people who were neither Jewish nor religious in our sense of the word. Instead of referring back to Jewish history and prophecy to explain Christ, Saint Luke focuses on how belief in Jesus changes lives for the better and might improve society.
